Tea break - tips and tricks
A colleague recently set up their first large worktable and asked others how to best set up a power supply to use their iron safely.
If budget permits, then you can install what is called a catenary system over the able area (see photo). This is a tensioned cable mounted at ceiling height, with carriers to support the power cable and allow the socket to move and follow the work across the table.
If you prefer to devise your own solution, then you can buy metal cable, tension fittings and regular curtain rings in DIY stores and workroom catalogues to create your own system.
- Remember — all electrical fittings should be installed by a qualified electrician
